Authorities are investigating what led to the shooting and crash.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police confirm one person was shot while riding in a car that rammed into another vehicle in North Philadelphia.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. Monday along the 2900 block of West Clearfield Street.

The view from Chopper 6 showed debris scattered across the road after the two-car collision.

At least one shell casing was found amid heavy debris.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the vehicle the victim was in ran away from the scene.

The other driver involved in the collision was hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating what led to the shooting and crash.
