Police: Woman attacks boyfriend with hammer in Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman is in custody after police say she attacked her boyfriend with a hammer in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 5500 block of Springfield Avenue.

Police say the 28-year-old man was hit in the head several times.

He was hospitalized in serious condition.

Police are calling this a domestic dispute.
