Man injured in Center City hit and run, suspect arrested

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A man was seriously injured after a hit and run in Center City Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:20 a.m. Sunday on Broad Street near Lombard.

Police say the driver of a vehicle with a New York license plate struck the victim and then sped away from the scene.

However, a 17th district officer noticed the vehicle a short distance away at 13th and Catherine streets.

The driver was taken into custody and faces charges.

The victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital with a head injury, bruises, and cuts.

The striking vehicle was impounded.
