
CAPE MAY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Coast Guard was called to rescue several people from a sinking boat off the coast of Cape May, New Jersey.
It happened around 12 noon Sunday about 35 miles out into the water.
Authorities say the 34-foot boat began taking on water and a distress call was made.
Arriving crews reported about three feet of water onboard.
Five people were on the boat at the time but no one was injured.
Coast Guard officials were able to get the flooding under control and escort the vessel to the Schooner Island Marina.
No word what caused the boat to take on water.
