Arrest made after woman attacked with stun gun while waiting for bus

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- An arrest has been made after a woman was attacked with a stun gun and robbed as she waited for a bus in Northeast Philadelphia.

Janesha Pickett, 35, is now charged with aggravated assault, robbery and other charges.

Investigators say she attacked the woman at the intersection of Benner Street and Castor Avenue on the morning of January 18.

They say Pickett, along with two other people, tried to grab the woman's bag, but the woman fought back.

A struggle ensued as the woman was knocked to the ground and dragged.

The suspect then pulled a taser and used it on the woman to force her to release the bag with $500 cash inside.

The woman was left on the ground, lying in the street until the bus came.

The bus driver helped her and took her to file a report.
