CHERRY HILL, New Jersey (WPVI) -- Beekeepers and enthusiasts from across the country gathered in New Jersey to celebrate the Eastern Apicultural Society's 70 years of 'sweet success.'
The annual conference dates back to the 1950s and takes place in a different state each year.
This year, hundreds visited the Double Tree Hilton in Cherry Hill to experience courses on beekeeping, crafting, cooking, and more.
Members of the Eastern Apicultural Society (EAS) are particularly concerned with conservation.
According to a report by 'Project Apis m' earlier this year, commercial beekeepers have noted a sudden loss of bees in their colonies.
According to Washington State University, laboratories across the country are studying pathogens, parasites, pesticide residues, weather, and other factors to determine the cause.
This year's conference in New Jersey has now concluded. Next year, the EAS will take their conference to Kentucky. Members are invited to attend.
