Woman charged with manslaughter after mother of 2 found dead in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- An Atlantic City woman has been charged with manslaughter after a mother of two was found dead in her apartment last weekend.

Ceani Barnes, 22, was arrested in connection with the death of 34-year-old Christina Burdette.

Burdette was found dead last Saturday inside her apartment on the 2000 block of Sheridan Avenue in Atlantic City, after police were called there for a report of an unresponsive female.

The medical examiner has determined her cause of death to be complications from "multiple blunt force trauma injuries with chronic abuse."

Police have not released any information about a connection between the two women.

The case is still being investigated.
