Countdown to the 2026 Oscars: Breaking down the nominees for Best Actor

LOS ANGELES (WPVI) -- 6ABC is counting down to the Oscars with a look at the nominees.

Five leading men are up for this year's Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Leonardo DiCaprio earned his 8th Oscar nomination, this time for for his role in "One Battle After Another."

He won the award once in 2016 for "The Revenant".

Ethan Hawke earned his 5th Oscar nomination for his role in "Blue Moon".

Timothée Chalamet is nominated for his role in "Marty Supreme".

He is the only acting nominee, who was also nominated last year.

Michael B. Jordan got his first Best Actor nomination for playing twins in the horror movie "Sinners".

And Wagner Moura became the first Brazilian artist ever nominated for Best Actor, for his role in "The Secret Agent".
