Decomposed body found in entrance of home in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose decomposing body was found in the entrance of his home in West Philadelphia.

Authorities were called to the unit block of North 61st Street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, after a friend of the man came to the home to check on him.

The friend had not heard from the 41-year-old man for more than a week.

Police do not have any signs of foul play, and they did not find any blood or shell casings at the scene.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
