Downingtown West High School twins among top lacrosse players in the country

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Ava and Brinn Findora are twins entering their senior year at Downingtown West High School. They also happen to be among the top high school lacrosse players in the nation.

Ava picked up a stick first at a young age, and Brinn quickly followed.

"I think when we were younger, going to camps and clinics, we always had someone that we knew," Brinn said. "So going into it, I was always so nervous, and I'm like, 'All these other people don't have anyone. We have each other, we already know each other so well, and we were just so lucky with that."

The twins have been inseparable, lacrosse strengthening their bond.

"Having someone always be there with me and doing everything together, it's really nice to always have someone there," Ava reflected.

When Ava and Brinn graduate from Downingtown West High School next spring, they'll play lacrosse at the next level together at the University of Virginia.

"I think one of the reasons we got here is because of each other," Brinn said. "I think having each other and asking questions was one of the big things - having each other break down stuff was one of the biggest things we were so lucky to have each other for."

They've been able to challenge and support each other to improve in the sport.

"She can tell me what I'm doing wrong, and I can tell her what she's doing wrong," Ava said. "Stuff like that, we're so lucky to be able to have that because a lot of people don't. I think that's helped our game tremendously."

The midfielders have trained with Team USA, earned All-League honors, and were both 5-star recruits. Despite the accolades, they always come back to each other.

"Us pushing each other every day helps us get better," Brinn said. "Having each other there on the field and seeing it translate in games is just so fun and rewarding."

Ava said lacrosse has made her appreciate Brinn a lot more.

It's a sisterhood built on love and fueled by competition.
