CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- EMR resumed operations on Monday at its Camden, New Jersey metal recycling facility.

EMR's license was temporarily suspended after a two-alarm fire on May 29.

In a statement, EMR said it will be instituting a new operating framework to reduce lithium-ion battery fire risk and strengthen incident response.

EMR also said it will have continuous monitoring through a permanent 24/7 Fire Watch, and an "advanced fire suppression system."

The city said there have been 12 fires at EMR over the past five years.
