
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The parents of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia doctor who was hit and killed by a drunk driver have filed a lawsuit.
Dr. Barbara Friedes was hit while she was riding her bike in Center City in July, 2024.

Friedes' parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Tuesday against 69-year-old Michael Vahey.
Police say Vahey was under the influence and drove his car into the bike lane, hitting Dr. Friedes.
Vahey pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, DUI, and other charges and was sentenced to six to 20 years in prison.
