Fight at playground may be connected to 2 separate shootings involving teens in Philadelphia: Police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating if two separate shootings that injured two teenagers in North Philadelphia are connected.

A 17-year-old is in stable condition after he was shot in the leg at 26th and Allegheny Streets, just after 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Police received information that the shooter may have exited a nearby property on the 3200 block of North 25th Street.

SWAT responded to clear the property.

Detectives could be seen interviewing potential witnesses. However, no arrests have been made.

Police are also working to track down the person who shot a 16-year-old nearby, hours earlier.

Investigators say the teen was shot twice in the leg and is in stable condition.

That shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday along the 2600 block of West Cambria Street.

Authorities recovered blue surgical gloves, which they say the shooter was wearing.
