HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A former employee of the Hamilton Township Board of Education in Atlantic County is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl who was in his care.
According to police, Darnell Williams, 34, allegedly fondled and kissed the girl after driving her home from an event at William Davies Middle School in February.
Following a months-long investigation, he was arrested on Thursday.
According to a criminal complaint, surveillance video allegedly showed Williams' vehicle in a different part of the hotel parking lot where the victim lived.

The girl's mother told police that when she confronted Williams, he began "acting weird and stuttering."
Police later interviewed the girl, who told officers she was touched while sitting on Williams' lap in the vehicle, the complaint alleges.
Williams is facing charges of sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.
He is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
The school district said Williams was fired from his job.
"As soon as the District was made aware of an investigation into alleged unlawful behavior by Mr. Williams, the District immediately placed him on administrative leave, cooperated with police, and thereafter terminated Mr. Williams before the end of the last school year," the district said in a statement.
