Broad Street Brewing opens a beer garden in Love Park
Broad Street Brewing opened a beer garden in Love Park in the shadows of the historic flying saucer building. The beautiful setting features a rotating tap list of Broad Street Brewing Beers and a menu of familiar favorites for a casual meal in the park.
The menu includes smashburgers, cheesesteaks, wings, fries and a footlong mozzarella stick. Everything is made to order on a food truck and served grab-and-go style in the self-seating beer garden.
Broad Street Brewing launched its original brewhouse in Bristol, Pa. in 2023. The owners are Philadelphia natives and were looking for a flagship location in the city. They jumped at the chance to operate in Love Park opening the beer garden on July 4th.
The initial operation will be open through the fall with a smaller footprint during the winter markets. They plan to add a screen to watch games as they continue to evolve the space. Right now, they are utilizing the terrace of the circular building for seating overlooking the park.
This is considered phase one of the project. In 2027 They plan to open the inside of the building with food provided by High Street Hospitality and coffee from Rival Brothers.

Chibanos highlights family recipes in a new fusion restaurant
Evan Fong Jaroff opened Chibanos on Pine Street to feature the fusion recipes that were part of his family's heritage. The menu blends Chinese and Cuban flavors in casual cafe setting open for breakfast and lunch.
Evan's Chinese roots come from his mother's family who left China in 1926, moved to Cuba before eventually landing in the United States when Fidel Castro took power. Along the journey the family flavors evolved combining Chinese ingredients with traditional Cuban meals.
The signature sandwich is the Chibano, featuring slow-roasted pork with a Chinese marinade served on a roll with ham, cheese and haam choy infused sauce. There are vegan options, desserts and a coffee menu using locally roasted coffee.

Known Associates presents cocktails and cuisine with European cafe vibe
Known Associates is a brand new spot inspired by European-style cafes that focus on cocktails, but serve up serious food. It's the latest from chef Chris Kearse, of Michelin-recommended Forsythia. The intimate interiors are the perfect background for Kearse's interpretation of a neighborhood cocktail bar, where guests are encouraged to linger and discover something new with every visit. At the bar, inventive twists on classic cocktails are crafted with just as many original creations. Food offerings range from playful snacks to refined bar fare, on a menu that is compact but substantial. Hours are daily from 3:00pm to midnight.

PhillyGoat lets you wear home team pride for all Philly sports
PhillyGoat is an apparel brand that pays homage to the founders' belief that the city of Philadelphia is the 'greatest of all time'. Brothers Ryan, Brett, and Patrick Cassidy were born in Philly and raised in Delco, and share a lifelong love of sports. Their parents met while working at the old Veteran's Stadium, where the boys' fandom started as young Phillies games attendees. And his small one-man workshop is making one of a kind creations you just have to see to believe.
Shakespeare in Clark Park Presents "Hamlet" July 29 - August 2
A new adaptation of "Hamlet" is coming to "The Bowl" of Clark Park.
"Shakespeare in Clark Park is a party in the park," says Shamus, producing artistic director of Shakespeare in Clark Park and director and producer of "Hamlet." "Shakespeare in Clark Park has been producing free theater in West Philadelphia for the last 21 years."
This year's production is a first-time collaboration with Revolution Shakespeare.
Tai Verley is the producing artistic director of Revolution Shakespeare and co-adapter of "Hamlet." Verley says Revolution Shakespeare, otherwise known as RevShakes, looks to express "all the things that are awesome about Shakespeare's work" through adaptations of all kinds.
This 90-minute version tells the story of Hamlet, considered to be "the everyman."

Two Creek Farm producing organic agriculture and amazing getaways in the Poconos

Two Creek Farm is a 600-acre regenerative organic farm in Lakewood, Wayne County, part of the Northern Poconos. Owner Brent Habig bought the property as a vacation getaway but has transformed it into fulltime farm.
There are highland cattle, hens, chickens, turkeys, sheep and forest-raised hogs. Each animal produces organic high-quality meat and eggs. There are bees making honey and all the harvests are hand-picked, avoiding tractors.
Two Creek Farm offers public pasture walks; two-hour educational tours held seasonally on the farm. Brent turned a treehouse he built for his now grown children into an overnight rental. There are campsites on the property where guests can experience the beauty of the farm.

Veteran-owned Forrest's Flags puts unique spin on stars and stripes
Forrest's Flags is putting a patriotic spin on the stars and stripes with unique flags created by a Marine veteran.
Forrest Samolonis launched Forrest's Flags in 2020. He makes each flag out of his home workshop crafting custom pieces made to order. He makes two different sizes, both the small or large flag can be converted to be a challenge coin holder.
Forrest is a veteran of the Marines serving tours in Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. After his military service he came home to New Jersey where he became a police officer. He's served 18 years on the police force.
Forrest injured his back which led to creating Forrest's Flags. While dealing with his injury he found woodworking as an outlet for his mental health. When the flags became popular in the community, he turned his outlet into a business.
