HAVERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A mother from Delaware County has been charged after her 3-year-old daughter was found dead in a car in Maine.
Officials say the girl died from hyperthermia after being left in a hot car for hours this weekend.
Her mother, 40-year-old Kelly Brown, of Havertown, allegedly told police she went to throw trash away when she was swept down a nearby river.

However, court documents show that Brown was not wet when she finally returned to the car.
Brown has been charged with manslaughter.
The family dog also died in the car.
