The history of the Constitution gets honored during 'Firstival' event

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- While a historic Summer is coming to a close this weekend, celebrations for America 250 are still going strong.

Today, the National Constitution Center hosted their very own "Firstival."

It's part of a weekly tradition this year that honors Philadelphia's contributions to America.

"The '52 Weeks of Firsts' is about celebrating all of Philly ingenuity...the entire calendar year...Every week is something different every single Saturday... we want people to come out and enjoy every single one of those celebrations," said Cari Feiler Bender, Spokesperson for Philadelphia Historic District.

The National Constitution Center is hosting their own September programming, such as "First Amendment Day" on September 9th.
