Kingsway Marching Dragons bring the classics to the 6abc Yard

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Playing the classics at the 6abc Yard on Friday, the Kingsway Regional High School Marching Band - known as the Dragons - brought their energy and talent to Philadelphia, performing a crowd-pleasing rendition of the iconic Action News theme song.

The band is led by director and Kingsway alumnus Mike Massaro, a 2016 graduate.

"It's absolutely full circle. It is an honor and a privilege of a lifetime," said Massaro.

Eighty-seven student musicians and color guard members filled the lush green yard with powerful performances, including music from "The Godfather."

"When I come to marching band, I'm so hyped every single day to see all my friends really performing. It's just an absolute gift," said band member Rocco Salamone.

Kingsway Regional is set to join 6abc for two upcoming events: the Navy-Marine Corps Parade and the 6abc Dunkin' Thanksgiving Day Parade.
