Leaders mark world asthma day with call for clean air protections in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia City Councilmember Jamie Gauthier joined health care professionals and activists Tuesday to call for more protections for cleaner air.

They gathered at Philadelphia City Hall to mark World Asthma Day.

Health experts highlighted the importance of passing legislation to protect our lungs from air pollution.

Councilmember Gauthier says in Philadelphia, one in five children and half a million adults suffer from asthma.
