Long-married couples renew their vows ahead of Valentine's Day in Delaware County

MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Long-time married couples are celebrating their love for each other ahead of Valentine's Day.

A special ceremony was held Wednesday at the Rose Tree Place retirement community in Media.

Five couples in the community renewed their vows in front of friends, family and neighbors.

They received floral boutonnieres and wedding bouquets for the ceremony.

Each couple has been married for at least 50 years.

Many took a trip down memory lane as they shared the moment they fell in love.

Karen Holahan, community life director at Rose Tree Place, was also excited to share the day with the happy couples. Watching the long-married residents reaffirm their love for each other is the perfect way to celebrate the Valentine's Day holiday, she said.

"We want their marriages to continue to flourish. We are a community; we are here to celebrate and support each other," said Holahan.
