NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- After 85 years in the same family, a beloved Montgomery County sandwich shop is preparing to enter a new chapter.

This week, lifelong customers are filling the booths at Lou's Steaks in Norristown to enjoy one last taste of the original, and to thank the owners for decades of creating a welcoming place in the neighborhood.

Lou's has been owned and operated by the Alba family since 1941, spanning three generations.

Over the years, the restaurant has become a popular destination for customers from across the region, known for its cheesesteaks and signature Zeps sandwiches.

Like the family business itself, many customers say their love for Lou's has been passed down through multiple generations.

Lou's will be under new ownership starting next week, and the good news for customers, we're told the new owners plan to keep the place the same.
