Man dies after being shot in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is dead following a shooting in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion neighborhood.

Police say medics were called to 29th and Ridge Avenue just after 1 a.m. over reports of a man lying in the street.

The 43-year-old was taken to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had been shot.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives then returned to the crime scene and found five shell casings.

Investigators also uncovered surveillance video that shows an altercation, but not the shooting itself.

Authorities hope other cameras in the area will help shed light on what happened.
