Man dies in burning home in Bear, Delaware

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- A 61-year-old man died in a house blaze in Bear, Delaware late Thursday night.

The fire started shortly after 10:30 p.m. on the 400 block Feather Drive in the Wellington Woods development.

Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke pouring from the first floor of the row-home.

The victim was found unconscious on the second floor.

He was rushed to Christiana Hospital's emergency room.

He died a short time later.

It took crews about twenty minutes to get the fire under control.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The fire marshal arrived on the scene to determine what sparked the blaze.
