PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A driver has been arrested after a fatal hit-and-run crash early Monday morning.
The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Roger Bailey of Philadelphia, according to police.
Police responded to the 2500 block of West Hunting Park Avenue around 3:40 a.m. after reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Officials say two vehicles were in the area after a gray 2007 Ford Escape had become disabled on the roadway.
A 61-year-old woman in a gray 2017 Subaru Forester stopped to help jumpstart the Escape.
Police say Bailey was between the two vehicles that were positioned for the jump-start when a gray 2004 Honda Pilot traveling westbound on West Hunting Park Avenue struck the disabled Escape.
The crash pushed the Escape forward into the Forester, pinning Bailey between the two vehicles.
The 26-year-old female driver of the Pilot fled the scene westbound on West Hunting Park Avenue but was later apprehended by police, according to officials.
Her name has not yet been released.
Bailey was taken to Temple University Hospital with critical injuries, where he later died.
Charges against the striking driver are currently pending. The investigation remains active and ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.
