Man shot, killed during pool tournament inside East Mount Airy bar

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting inside a bar in Philadelphia's East Mount Airy section.

It happened along the 8100 block of Stenton Avenue at Uptown Cafe.

Officers responded just before 11 p.m., where they found a 37-year-old man unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Most of the shell casings were found by the pool tables in the back of the bar, as well as a broken pool cue.

Investigators believe a fight during a pool tournament may have escalated.
