PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A deadly bar shooting in Philadelphia's East Mount Airy section was just one of several incidents of gunfire across the region overnight Monday.
A 37-year-old man was found unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds, just after 11 p.m. Monday, after gunfire at Uptown Cafe along the 8100 block of Stenton Avenue. He was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Philadelphia police also responded to the 2000 block of East Monmouth Street in Kensington around midnight. Police say a 36-year-old man was spray painting a car when someone came up and shot him three times in the arm and once in the back.
He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Also, police were called to the 69th Street Transit Center in Upper Darby, Delaware County, around midnight after a 38-year-old male was shot in the stomach.
He was taken to a hospital but his condition is not known.
This comes after a Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer suffered a gunshot wound to the leg on Monday night while searching a suspect following a traffic stop. It happened near 17th and Cumberland streets around 7:40 p.m. on Monday. The officer is now recovering at the hospital, according to officials.
