Man shot and killed in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is dead after a shooting Friday night in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. at N Palm and Parrish streets.

Investigators said the victim was with a woman and two children at the time of the shooting.

Police are looking into whether the shooting may have stemmed from a Facebook Marketplace meetup that turned violent.

Authorities said the victim was shot in the head by someone in another group. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The woman and the children were not hit by gunfire, police said.

Officials have not released a description of the suspect or suspects.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
