Annual cornhole tournament fights back against breast cancer

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Bags were flying in the backyard of a Montgomery County home today, all to raise money for those with breast cancer.

Dozens gathered to support the Benning family, whose annual cornhole tournament helps people "Fight BACK" against their disease.

"I learned that my wife was sick. She found a lump, found out it was breast cancer. She passed in 2019...We turned it into a charity event...and we're averaging about $10,000 funds to be donated each year," said Michael Benning.

The money raised gets donated to United for Her, and Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.

"As long as I can physically do it and as long as people want to keep coming back, I'm going to keep doing it because I know it's important to my boys. Even though bad things happen, beautiful things can come from it," said Benning.
