Navy medic searches for missing poodle after AirTag found without dog

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A U.S. Navy medic is pleading for help to find her missing toy apricot poodle after the dog disappeared in Camden two weeks ago.

The search for the five-pound dog, named Noelle, has taken a confusing turn after her AirTag was recovered with no sign of the animal.

Jessica Lora, who is stationed in upstate New York, said Noelle serves as her support animal following an atopic pregnancy. Lora said the AirTag had been firmly attached.

"It was pretty secure in her harness, so I don't think that it just naturally came off," she said. "I genuinely feel like someone may have removed it."

Lora said her mother had been dog-sitting and brought Noelle to South Jersey to visit family.

The dog somehow got out of the yard, prompting relatives to search Camden and Pennsauken, review surveillance video and distribute flyers with help from a nonprofit rescue group.

Kathy TortuBowles of Bailey's Bridge to Home Rescue and Recovery in Cherry Hill said the group has been following up on tips.

"We did get a couple of leads last week. There were two people that said the same thing about a dog down on 26th Street in Camden, so we flooded that area with flyers," she said.

The nonprofit is offering a $1,500 reward as the search continues.
