Mayor Signs Deed Fraud Protection Bill

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The city of Philadelphia is taking steps to help protect homeowners who become victims of deed fraud.

Mayor Cherelle Parker joined City Council Majority Leader Katherine Gilmore Richardson at City Hall on Tuesday for a ceremonial bill signing recognizing new legislation.

The bill allows refunds of realty transfer taxes for victims of deed fraud. That will help residents recover some costs associated with having a deed stolen.
