Philadelphia Police search for suspect in shooting death of a man in Cobbs Creek

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect who shot an killed a man in the Cobbs Creek section of the city.

Police say a gunman fired nine shots, hitting a 23-year-old man several times.

The shooting happened on the 5800 block of Montrose Street at around 11:50 p.m. Friday.

Medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but he could not be saved.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.

This is an on-going investigation with the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit.
