Philadelphia prepares for LGBTQIA+ Pride Celebrations

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The City of Philadelphia is gearing up for one of its biggest Pride celebrations yet.

This year's theme is "Pride Is Power."

Pride on the Parkway returns Sunday, June 7th and will take place along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The event is moving from the Gayborhood to make room for bigger crowds and greater visibility during America's 250th anniversary.

Philly Pride 365 says the expanded event will feature performances, vendors, and civic programming.

It will be headlined by a tribute to music icon, Patti LaBelle.
