Longtime Perkiomenville bait shop to close its doors

PERKIOMENVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- It's the end of an era for a local mom and pop shop in Perkiomenville, Pa.

Piersons Plugs has been the go-to bait shop for fishermen around the area for the past 20 years.

Bill Pierson originally opened the shop so that he could sell his handmade lures, but it exploded into a one-stop shop for every fishing need you could imagine.

Bill passed away suddenly about a year ago, and in an effort to keep the business going for their loyal customers, his wife Dee and his mother have been keeping it open.

Unfortunately, they've made the ultimate decision to close up shop.

They will be closing at the end of January but encourage their friends to stop in, grab a few things and say goodbye one last time.
