UPPER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A stretch of the Route 202 northbound in Upper Merion Township opened Tuesday after nine months of sinkhole repairs.

The $22.4 million project began in February, closing the northbound lanes between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard.

Sinkholes have plagued that stretch of highway over the last few years.

These renovations should reduce the risk of future sinkholes.

Work on Route 202 southbound is scheduled to begin in 2026.
