Second Alarmers merit awards

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The volunteers who help back up police officers and firefighters were honored Monday night.

Members of the Second Alarmers were recognized for their service during the deadly Amtrak derailment in May.

Philadelphia's Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer handed out merit awards during the ceremony at the Second Alarmers station in Hunting Park.
