PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- SEPTA is bringing an end to its Key Tix program.
Key Tix is a mobile ticketing platform that allows riders to download a QR code ticket that can be read at fareboxes and turnstiles on all Bus and Metro services.
SEPTA said it launched Key Tix in December 2022 as a simple solution for occasional riders who want to enjoy the same benefits as Key cardholders.
However, with contactless payment options available on all modes since April 2025, demand for Key Tix has decreased significantly, the transit agency said.
Sales for Key Tix will end on March 2.
Tickets will remain valid for 180 days from the date of purchase.
SEPTA will continue to use contactless payments and Key Cards.
