VIDEO: Study: Antidepressants don't raise risk for breathing disorder in babies

A new study could reassure women taking antidepressants late in their pregnancy.

It showed that the drugs don't raise the risk of a severe breathing disorder called PPHN in their newborns.

In PPHN or Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension, babies can't adjust to breathing outside the womb.

The FDA had said it wasn't sure if antidepressants were linked to PPHN.

This study says obesity and diabetes are more likely to cause it than the medications.
