Suburban private schools merge to create independent Jewish day school

Two private schools in the Philadelphia suburbs are merging to create an independent Jewish day school.

Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Delaware County is combining with Perelman Jewish Day School in Montgomery County.

The new, unified school will serve students in pre-K through 12th grade.

It will operate across three campuses: two from Perelman in Wynnewood and Melrose Park, along with Barrack's campus in Bryn Mawr.

The yet-to-be-named combined school will begin in the fall of 2027, pending regulatory approval.
