Suspect arrested in Olney rape, attempted carjacking

OLNEY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police say they have a suspect in custody who sexually assaulted one victim and tried to carjack another.

The attacks happened around 6:20 p.m. Monday on the 400 block of West Tabor Road in Olney.

A 42-year-old woman told police the suspect forced her out of her car and sexually assaulted her.

Detectives say he then fled and tried to carjack another person to get away, but was unsuccessful. He was then apprehended by police.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
