Ticket buyers dream big before $1 billion Powerball Jackpot drawing

WYNNEWOOD, Pa. -- Saturday's winning numbers: 3-18-22-27-33 Powerball: 17

At a 7-Eleven in South Philadelphia, customers are pouring in to try their luck on the $1 billion Powerball Jackpot.

And, just about everyone has a plan on what to do with the money.

"I would probably buy my own island," said Khalil Dunston, Sales Associate at 7-Eleven.

"Pay bills and probably move to a bigger home," said Marguerite Clemons, South Philadelphia.

For many, family comes first.

"Make a better life for me and my family," said Hakim Hughes, South Philadelphia.

Others said they'd also give back.

"I'd make sure my kids are okay, I'd pay my house off, and I'd look out for my church, said Vanessa Foreman, South Philadelphia. "I'd make sure my church gets some cause God's been good to me."

This is only the sixth time in Powerball's 33-year history that the Jackpot has reached the billion-dollar mark. For just $2 a ticket, many see it as a chance to start a new life.

"I would move out of Philadelphia first of all and look after my mom. Buy my mom a new house, buy my brothers a new house, and take care of my family," said Jamal Rice, South Philadelphia.

The winner could also choose the cash option, a lump-sum payout estimated at $453.1 million before taxes. And not everyone's dreaming of luxury.

"What I need a fancy car for?" said Wilhemina Ganges, South Philadelphia. "I don't even drive that much, and I already got a car. I'd just buy another house in North Carolina and help other people out."

The odds of winning? One in 292 million. But that isn't stopping anyone, not even those selling the tickets.

"I have big dreams too, said Dunston. "I bought mine. I'm not going to check it till Sunday though. I think that's the best way to do it. Let everybody else get their excitement out, then I'll check Monday morning and hopefully have a winner."
