3 hurt, including child, after tree crashes onto car in Lower Merion Twp.

LOWER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Three people, including a child, were injured Friday after a tree fell onto a vehicle in Lower Merion Township.

The incident happened around 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Montgomery and Thornbrook avenues.

Chopper 6 was over the scene, where a large tree could be seen resting on top of the vehicle.

Authorities said the driver, a 35-year-old woman, and a front-seat passenger, a 40-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and remain in critical condition.

A 10-year-old girl who was riding in the back seat suffered minor injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Montgomery Avenue remains closed between Wendover Road and Ithan Avenue as crews work to repair damaged electrical wires.

The incident remains under investigation.
