Water restored at Loews Hotel in Center City

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A water main break in Center City left a number of properties, including the Loews Hotel, without water service.

It happened around 5:00 p.m. Saturday on South 12th Street.

Officials say a 12-inch main broke, causing an impact on several properties including the hotel.

Power at the hotel was also out for a short period of time, but has been restored.

Crews worked through the night to repair the water main break.

Police blocked the street during the repair work.

90% of the hotel rooms are filled. Some of the guests took the Loews' offer to move to another hotel, but most decided to stay.
