Woman charged following fatal crash in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A woman involved in a deadly crash in New Castle is accused of driving drunk.

It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday along North DuPont Highway.

Investigators say a Lexus crashed into a tractor trailer, before colliding with a traffic sign.

A 36-year-old female passenger in that Lexus was ejected, and died at the scene.

The driver of the Lexus, Ashley Wright, was taken to the hospital.

Wright was later charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol.

She's since been released on a $10,000 bond.
