Police are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for allegedly snatching the purse of a woman in South Philadelphia.

SOUTH PHILDELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman was dragged by a vehicle trying to stop the man who stole her purse from getting away.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. on November 27 in a grocery store parking lot at 330 Oregon Avenue.

Police say the suspect chose his victim. He parked his vehicle and entered the victim's vehicle, taking her purse.

When the woman realized her purse was being taken, she attempted to stop the suspect from entering his vehicle.

Police say once the suspect got into his car, he drove off, dragging the victim, and causing her to fall.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10" tall, wearing a black jacket, and gray pants.

Police are looking for a late model Toyota Highlander.
