READING, Pa. -- A man charged with stealing the car belonging to the mayor of Reading has surrendered to police.

The Reading Eagle reports that 36-year-old Angel Torres-Rosado turned himself in on Wednesday.

Torres-Rosado and a second man are charged with stealing a 2001 Honda convertible belonging to Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer. It happened in September near Reading High School.

Police have not found the car and believe it was chopped up for parts.

Another man charged in the theft remains on the loose. Police say a third suspect is cooperating and will be charged later.

Torres-Rosado was jailed on $20,000 bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
