VIDEO: Tom Verica juggles 2 hit shows on TGIT
He's a Thursday night triple threat - directing and producing 'Scandal' by day and starring in 'How To Get Away With Murder' at night.

It's after dark at a sound stage in Los Angeles and Havertown native Tom Verica is still hard at work.

He's a Thursday night triple threat - directing and producing 'Scandal' by day and starring in 'How To Get Away With Murder' at night.

Talk about the magic of Shonda Rhimes - Sam Keating, Verica's character on 'How To Get Away With Murder,' was dead by the end of episode one but he's still in every episode.

His days with 'Scandal' are jam-packed with pre and post production.

And he's able to get it all done in a long day's work because both shows share the same lot.

"Even when I'm working on 'How To Get Away With Murder,' if we are doing a lighting setup I will run over to 'Scandal' and see what's going on," said Verica.

Verica says he's so busy, he looks forward to playing dead.

"I actually find it kind of peaceful because it's the one time I get to lay down and not deal with meetings and prep. And one time I actually fell asleep, which is kind of funny," he said.

Verica calls his chance to star alongside two-time Oscar nominee Viola Davis - a once in a lifetime

"She's a powerhouse. She's completely fearless in her approach to it," said Verica.

And Davis says she was completely enamored with our city when they were here shooting the pilot.

"It has such a rich life and culture. I love that," said Davis.

As for Verica, he's been acting for decades.

And late night host Jimmy Kimmel recently dug up an epic, vintage video of him busting a move on the local show 'Dancin on Air.'

"I tried to keep that skeleton in my closet for quite some time," said Verica.

Even though he's been living in Los Angeles for more than two decades, Verica is still a major Philly sports fan, rooting for every home team- and the feeling is mutual.

The Flyers came to visit the set of 'How To Get Away With Murder'

"They are fans of the show. I thought someone was playing me and RJ Umberger and Claude Giroux and I took them on a tour and they were walking around. I couldn't believe how much they know about the show," said Verica.

And you can tweet with Verica and cast members of both shows live every Thursday night on 6abc.
