AMBLER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities have identified the victims of a double homicide in Ambler, Montgomery County.
Janice Trunk, 54, and Kevin Milton Smith, 44, were found dead in the 100 block of Forest Avenue on Sunday night.
Friends tell Action News that the two were a couple.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said it was around 11:15 p.m. when police responded to a report of gunshots in the Forest Garden Apartments.
Officers searched various apartments until they located the unit where both Trunk and Smith were found dead.
Trunk's sister, Kimberly, said she received a call from a friend about the killings around 2 a.m.
She immediately went to police, then came to the scene.
"She would call me every day," Trunk told Action News. "We spoke every day, a million times a day. She was a good sister."
Trunk says she was interviewed by detectives but received little information about what happened.
She said her sister lived at the complex for almost ten years with her 19-year-old son.
Last night the son was at a friend's home, and Kimberly called him after she received the devastating news. He also went to meet with investigators.
At about 5 a.m. police towed a vehicle parked on Forest Avenue.
All morning, a steady stream of friends approached Janice's family.
Kimberly says she last spoke to her sister at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, and she seemed upbeat. She is now waiting for answers about her sister's death.
"She was my last living relative," said Trunk. "If anyone knows anything, please let me know, let the police know."
