1 dead after double shooting inside car in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting in North Philadelphia that left one man dead and another hospitalized.

Authorities say shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday someone opened fire on two men who were sitting inside a car on the 2700 block of North 5th Street.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, was shot in the right side of his back.

His passenger, also in his 30s, was shot once in the chest.

After the shooting, the 31-year-old managed to drive to Temple University Hospital where the passenger was pronounced dead.

The condition of the driver remains uncertain.

No arrests have been made.
