PAL supporter Sally Berlin has died

Sally Berlin, a long-time supporter and champion of the Police Athletic League, has died.

A statement to the PAL board of directors announced Berlin's passing.

The statement, from executive director Ted Qualli, reads:

"It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Sally Berlin. As you all know, Sally was an inspiring and passionate woman who worked tirelessly in support of PAL and the Philadelphia Police Department. She was a pioneer in many ways, leaving her mark not only on PAL and generations of Philadelphia's children, but across the country as well, through her efforts advancing the field of public relations."

Relatives and friends are invited to Memorial Services on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Zion Beth Israel, located at 300 South 18th St. Philadelphia, PA 19103.
