MEDFORD LAKES, N.J. (WPVI) -- Some Burlington County third graders continued a fall tradition at school.
Neeta Elementary School in Medford Lakes held its annual monarch butterfly release Thursday afternoon.
Students have been studying the butterflies for about a month, from the time they were just eggs.
Students released the butterflies, so they could safely travel south for the winter.
Family, friends and staff were invited to see the butterflies off, as they began their migration.
